Hello,

I'm new to android world and in the last three weeks, since I've got my LG Optimus P500 with Android 2.2.1 Froyo (Software Version LG-P500-V10n), I've read a lot on this forum and used many advices.
I'm specially interested in using iGO with my phone and I've successfully installed iGO My way™ 2009 for Android™ v8.4.2.139242 (480x320) using content from WinMo version. It runs smoothly, GPS fix is acquired very quickly, but the default skin, taken from Amigo, it's too simple and has limited functionality, even compared with Primo let alone iGO 8 Gurjon skin for example. After exhaustive search I've found a skin for the 480x320 resolution named sk_Android_12carrera12_Sbertaud13_V7.0d_EUR, but to use it, all I could find was that I need to root the phone in order to install the skin. I've tried a temporary root using z4root v1.3.0, but that didn't worked and I'm skeptic to do a permanent root (I think because of the upgrade to V10n that might not work also) and void my warranty in case of failure.
There is no other possibility to push data.gro or sys.txt to respective location without rooting the phone?
If not, then how the apk installing process does it without root?

I know from using iGO WinMo versions that the sys.txt file on iGO folder from SD card will overwrite same settings from sys.txt file located in phone's memory or some .ini file from data.zip. iGO for android doesn't have same behavior?

I wonder if there is another possibility to make iGO work with the skin without the need for rooting the phone.
If iGO does read sys.txt from SD card, then can it be "persuaded" from settings to read data.gro also from SD card?
If not, can sys.txt be extracted from apk file (I managed to do this, I think is possible with any zip archivers), modified to "persuade" from settings to read data.gro from SD card, then reinserted in apk file.
Or maybe do the above action with data.gro file, can someone that modified apk file before, and included skins for other resolutions, do the same with the one for 480x320 resolution to replace data.gro from above mentioned skin?

I'm sorry if my questions are more or less newbie ones.
Still I hope, at least some of them will be answered.

Thanks in advance for any reply.

Fortunately for me I'm romanian too but out of respect for this forum's user I'll continue in english.
I have SDK and I've tried a bit to play with it. I've tried to access /data folder on the device but it's inaccessible because phone is not rooted.
Is there any other way to use the SDK without rooting the phone?
